Bryant "Human Factors in Robotic Torts"
Summary: An overemphasis on the definition of what "autonomy" is can lead discussions that do not give the collaborative aspects of human-machine interactions that can enhance safe and legal use of robotic products. He is right when alluding to the primary function of the automation system - namely, to delineate as far as possible the respective roles of the vehicle automation system and the human driver. One important insight Bryant offers is the framing of the machine-human interface in terms of legality, safety and actuality (p.3).
